I made this pen from a Black Walnut tree at Washington Crossing growing near the spot where Washington’s men

The dark wood around the worm hole is contrasted with an inlay of light blue turquois

The tree was located at  40°17'47

a New Jersey signatory to the Declaration of Independence and the only signer captured and imprisoned by the British during the American Revolution

The little branch this one was made from was so small that I could not avoid the bark which you can see in two of the pictures
