Washington Crossing Tulip Poplar Pen #C;ATH11080This pen is made from a Tulip Poplar tree growing near the Johnson Ferry House at Washington Crossing the site of the arduous and famous Christmas crossing that started the Ten Crucial Days. This hazardous but pivotal crossing and and the three battles that followed rekindled hope in a failing American Revolution. This interesting pen is from one piece of wood, the dark and light parts separated from each other while drying out so I reconnected them

This pen is shades of cream and brown with dark streaks and knot crossing the top

The color is all-natural though somewhat rare in the wood

The dark wood around the worm hole is contrasted with an inlay of light blue turquois

Distinctive grain patterns make this pen a stand out

This led to the Ten Crucial Days that rekindled the struggle of the failing American Revolution
