The rod is in excellent original condition with the exception of one tip section missing its tip top. I have to confess that I broke it off while trying to bend the tip top loop (a long time ago when I didn't know better!) and subsequently lost the tip top. This is not a break resulting from fishing. The cane broke at the base of the tip top. This rod is amazing. I have fished it multiple
