Shes been painted energetically with large confident marks and a broad brush. Perhaps the artist is trying to convey her vivacious character? It’s monogrammed in the lower right and appears to bear an inscription

This ran between 1871 and 1880 with routes to Harlem and Coney Island

The artist has built up the oils quickly and energetically to give the painting an interesting expressionistic appearance

The frame has various scuffs and losses but holds together well
