The shield is covered with leather on both the front and back, and features a black shield boss with gold coloured decorations of wings and lightning bolts on the front. The back is fitted with arm straps so that the shield may be worn comfortably for extended periods. Well suited to Roman reenactment or as part of a Roman costume.
