15th century cuirass blackThe cuirass is based on a 15th century original from the Wallace Collection in London. Constructed in the Milanese style, Milanese armour parts were worn throughout 15th century Europe. The breastplate has been blackened, a technique that was widely employed during the 15th century, which permits the cuirass to be protected against rust and weathering.
