A pretty and well-layered blend of both red and black pinot fruit is liberally laced with earth

all wrapped in a firm and moderately robust finish underpinned by firm tannins and beautiful persistence

black raspberry and blackberry soar from the glass of this spectacular 2014

A remarkably elegant and spicy nose that is now fully mature reveals the initial hints of sous bois while leading to rich

pure and airy red berry fruit scents along with a profusion of floral elements that are also trimmed in a discreet application of wood

violets and sandalwood

There is very good richness and volume to the sleekly muscular middle weight flavors that possess just enough minerality to notice

The élevage lasted 16 months and was mostly in oval Stockinger 2

I have said this several times recently but since 2009 this wine has become noticeably more interesting

While certainly a quality '76 I was somewhat disappointed by the lack of excellent depth and length
