J.J. Prum Wehlener Bernkasteler Johannisbrunnchen Eiswein 1990Big and burly, a giant of a wine that smashes your palate with sweet fruit and nearly tears it apart. Full bodied and very sweet, with ripe honey, spice and dried apricot aromas, spice, honey and smoke flavors and a very sweet finish.

It's a beautiful wine drinking at point

jammy blackberries and cassis

but not invisible

This is aromatically similar to the regular cuvée save for being even spicier and displaying a bit more wood influence

It is medium to full-bodied

Here the equally brooding nose is slightly more elegant with its cool and restrained nose of red currant

From the valley floor

particularly given that a '76 Giroud Suchots tasted side by side (see herein) was substantially better

This isn't quite as floral as the Amoureuses but it's even spicier with its purple fruit
