Taheega Savage, Big AmaTaheega Savage, Big Ama, 2021 Linocut print on paper. Sold unframed. 35cm x 50cm I chose this title for two reasons. The first is as a tribute to my Grandmother Big Ama. She was an amazing woman who was well respected, loved and known by many as Big Ama or Big Mother on Erub (Darnley Island) and Cairns. The second is because the barramundi changes into a female once it reaches about 80cm. Therefore any big barramundi is a Big Ama or Big Mother.

of the spinifex on Country and the colours of the dry harsh lands

brolgas will fiercely defend it

the victim would appear to have been attacked by a much larger creature
