Paul Young Martha Marie Bamboo Rod 7'6" 2/2 #5For sale here is a Paul H. Young Martha Marie bamboo rod. Serial #4083. 7'6" 2 2 5wt. Made in March of 1963 by Jack Young. The rod is in excellent+ original condition. All sections are full length and straight. Richly flamed cane with golden wraps. The script on the butt in Jack Young's writing reads First flat: RICHARD DRUKKER Second flat: "Martha Marie" Model 7 1 2FT. 3. 74 oz. Third flat: A Paul H. Young Co. Rod Garrison style hook keeper. Half
"6" impressed in the side of the reel foot and "Bradley" engraved into the nut on the winding plate side
Most are larger sizes (8-12) with a few medium sized (14-16)
For sale here we have a spool of vintage Belding Corticelli #5555 (brown) silk winding thread
This is a fantastic example of an original 1950s Payne 202

The rod is in near mint condition having only been lawn cast
V346 serial number appears on the foot
The flies have never been removed from the box
most likely by Orvis as they are done very well
