Payne Fiberglass Rod 8'6For sale here is a not often seen Payne fiberglass rod made by South Bend. It comes from the estate of Joseph Bates and was purchased through Oliver's auction. 8 1 2 feet in length, two sections, for a 6 or 7 weight line. Rod is in excellent condition. Comes with original rod bag and tube.

The blank is a unique clay color with deep rust colored wraps and gold spiraled tipping accents

Bright aluminum cap and ring reel seat over a mortised walnut spacer

Brown wrapped with black accents at the ferrules

this larger size of thread was commonly used by European rodmakers such as Hardy and Pezon et Michel

This medium action rod was one of those sold by Abercrombie and Fitch

Serial number P/B made in 1969

a coat of resin has been put on the spacer
