Hollyhock HouseI was lucky enough to see Hollyhock House in person on one of my trips to LA. Barnsdall Art Park is stunning in its own right, but the house itself completely stops you in your tracks. Seeing it up close was an unforgettable moment, Frank Lloyd Wright is one of my favourite architects, and experiencing his craftsmanship in person felt incredibly special. It feels like an escape from the chaos

and at the time

which made it especially meaningful to a lot of people in my audience

you’d probably walk right past it without realising it’s a true Los Angeles landmark

I’m also lucky enough to be in touch with the owner of the house

After spending so long researching it and getting lost in its history and architecture

I nearly didn’t finish it in time

attempting to draw a detailed and deeply personal space like the Eames House was a challenge for me

This artwork was inspired by a photo I took at the Hollywood Bowl one evening

I made my way there once with every intention of finally trying one of their iconic hot dogs
