Left hand retrieve. Serial #159. Stainless steel rings and delrin sideplates. Comes with an Arne Mason leather reel case. Spool width: 3 4. Capacity: WF4 w no backing. Weight 3 3 4 oz. The 2 1 2 Special Midge has been a favorite of anglers fishing 6 to 6 ft. 3 4wt bamboo rods.

It differs from my later rods by the following two details: there is a wooden lip on the reel seat where it meets the rear of the grip and the wraps are a slightly darker shade of red then the current "may rose" color that I would later settle on (with edges that are also slightly darker)
