Soeffker, Gary -- 7'9 2/2 5wt Bamboo Fly RodFor sale here is a Gary Soeffker 7'9" two piece bamboo fly rod for a five weight line. This is a very fine example of Gary's work in the early 90's with stunningly dark shafts, golden nodes and a nicely swelled butt. Medium fast dry fly action. The rod remains in excellent plus original condition. it weighs 4 3 4 oz. and has size 13 64 ferrules. The inscription on the rod is complete, but the dark flaming makes you look for the inscription. It reads:

Taken altogether I suspect this rod may have been put together from odds and ends and leftovers lying around the Payne shop

The original smooth brass foot is full length and has a slight kink but fits reel seats just fine

An excellent example of this Miramichi classic pattern

able to throw a whole WF #9 line and has fantastic cosmetics from the special rod tube to the cosmo spar varnish

The varnish is excellent as well as the ferrule fit

mostly salmon - over half of which are gut-eyed
