This gemstone is part of the Lavender Hubei family and while it's not a turquoise, it does contain the rare mineral hotsonite. The only other area this is found near turquoise is in Nevada. The colors range from the famous periwinkle blue and flow into shades

Unlike the vibrant greens of classic American variscite (such as Utah or Nevada varieties)

this gem displays a rich

earthy greens ranging from lime and hunter to deep forest tones

this newer material has our jaws on the floor

and it's actually related to Gaspeite
