Hooded Merganser drakeThis spring in the marsh the mating season has been fruitful with respect to wildlife photography. Sitting in a photo blind allows me to be out of site and witness to male mating behaviour.

Early light breaks through

sensing danger

Usually it's other raptors such as Short-eared Owls and Ravens they hide from

Deep russets and muted golds adorned the landscape

In autumn's embrace

eyes focused—

I hope that by capturing and showing these moments can inspire others to appreciate wildlife that we pass by every day

Autumn's breath cools the still air—

that the Short-eared Owl sat—a living portrait perfectly captured against nature's canvas
