(c. 1667 1739), a Kent landowner and senior militia officer, shown at approximately mid to late middle age. Marsh is presented half length against a dark, neutral ground, his figure turned slightly to the left while his gaze meets the viewer with gentle assurance. He wears a rich brown coat fastened with gilt buttons over a patterned waistcoat
