2012 $5 Uncut Sheet (2 notes in a sheet)Obverse Design Features an image of a Red Throated Lorikeet (Kulawai), predominantly green, the Kulawai is a very rare inhabitant of the mountain forest canopy. The last confirmed sighting was in 1993 and searches in the last few years have failed to find it. Additional elements include the Fiji Coat of Arms, a salt basket (Kato ni Masima), vertical and horizontal numbers on the banknote and the signature of the Governor of the Reserve Bank of Fiji.

The reverse of the banknote features a Culture & Heritage theme with depictions of the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva in 1914 and also features the Joske’s Thumb in the background
