工房のある備前市井田(いた)地区は1671年、国宝「閑谷学校」の経営を支える学校田として田んぼが作られ、その収穫を学校に納めて子どもたちの学びを支えました。中国の井田(せいでん)法が用いられており、当時の岡山藩主により岡山の後楽園内にも同地の縮小田が設置され、現在でも毎年お田植え祭りが行われています。
1999年 東京造形大学彫刻科卒業後、美濃・豊場惺也氏に師事
